Electric Bike
The electric bikes are a fun way to explore the forest on the gravel tracks. They have an electric motor to assist you up the hills and so making it easier to explore more of the forest. These bikes are perfect if you are wanting to explore lots of the forest, as they allow you to ride further. They are also recommended for anyone who knows they do not enjoy the strain of an uphill, we also recommend them for towing a trailer as the electrics make the experience of towing much more interesting.

Gravel Bike
Descended from touring bikes, endurance bikes and cyclo-cross bikes, “Gravel” or “Adventure” bikes are a do-it-all bike for the rider that wants to ride a mixture of roads, dirt forest tracks and bridleways. Generally ridden with drop handlebars like a road bike, they have disc brakes and wider tyres, typically ranging from a 35c size up to a 2.9x.,1 mountain bike style tyre.
We have decided that as we became gravel-curious and didn’t know where to go to try out this new discipline, then other people must be in the same boat so we have introduced some Gravel/Adventure bikes into our hire fleet.
Grizedale Forest is probably one of the best places in the Lake District to sample this kind of riding as we have an extensive gravel track network and plenty of options to test your skills on local bridleways.
Feel free to call us at the shop to chat about which bike to choose, or you can book online.
Please be aware that all under 18 year old riders must be accompanied by a riding adult at all times.
