This is a lovely family trail which is a big wide gravel track around the east side of the forest. This trail starts from the Bogle Crag Car Park, which involves a short road section to the start if you are beginning at the centre.
The trail begins with a long uphill, which then levels off and undulates around the east side of the forest, offering views over the Ambleside fells. Keep your eyes pealed for Go-Apes vehicles and all those enjoying Zip-Trekking through the trees.
You can also join this trail and the purple trail for a 2 hour ride, beginning on the purple up to Moor Top car park and then changing to the black signs to head towards Grizedale Tarn.
